What creature is this? Some sort of land tadpole?

Ceratiomyxa sphaerosperma from Mera, Pastaza, Ecuador. This tiny slime mold makes its spores on little stalks, giving it a distinctive appearance. My favorite feature of these are the glass-like stems.

A horizontal photo at sunset in winter along Lake Superior. In the foreground, a granite protrusion is covered in a thick coat of ice, with icicles hanging down off the top of the rocks. The base of the rocks along the water is exposed, showing black basalt. The rock face is heavily fractured, showing vertical fracture lines. The rock face is glows a pale orange in the setting sunlight. Waves breaking along the rocks appear as white water due to a long exposure. The rocks continue along the left side of the image until meeting the harbor breakwall. The breakwall juts out to the right and is covered in ice. At the end of the wall is a light beacon. The beacon is cylindrical and white, with a horizontal green stripe around the center of the column. Above the horizon, the sky is tinged a pale purple, with hints of orange. A line of darker clouds sits just above the horizon. A single, thin cloud extends from the upper left, stopping just above the beacon. The underside of the cloud is purple, while the face is illuminated pink by the setting sun.

A very stylish crab in a Purim costume made of green and brown seaweed. It mainly eats mussels and paua, but I dont know how crab kashrut works.

Did you know that crabs also celebrate Purim?
The hairy seaweed crab is NZ’s most common rock pool crab. It decorates its shell with sponges & seaweed every year. Smaller, unrelated crustaceans will sometimes cling to its back to get leftovers.
So far, no underwater graggers have been discovered.
