I’ve been thinking about how part of my job, grading papers, has been obstructed by the introduction of AI into the world…blocking the expression of both my students and myself (writing time lost addressing this problem)
At some point the labor of actual thinking and writing has to happen! AI defers that labor indefinitely. It offers a friction-free fantasy of intellectual work. As though it can happen by magic.

Yeah, this turn of events is not good. But legacy media has lost so much of its former power. The larger media transformation is not over yet. Consolidation on the corporate side is bad but decentralization on the user/maker side continues. Opens up space for new voices, platforms, news.
