interesting chip tho. it’s unfortunate you can’t really design a real project / product around it bc it’s gonna be impossible to source in any significant quantity it seems

please do, i’d love to hear your take!
after years of KiCAD I am using altium at work again and there isn’t much of a gap anymore. sure, altium has a lot more supplychain focused integrations and when you need that you *need* that.
for just the CAD part, you are not missing out on a lot with KiCAD

Michael Stapelberg 🐧🐹😺 (@zekjur@mas.to) Attached: 4 images PSA: Did you know that it’s **unsafe** to put code diffs into your commit messages? Like https://github.com/i3/i3/pull/6564 for example Such diffs will be applied by patch(1) (also git-am(1)) as part of the code change! This is how a sleep(1) made it into i3 4.25-2 in Debian unstable.

in-band signaling is always a mistake and unix tooling is full of in-band signaling https://mas.to/@zekjur/116022397626943871

i only see her once a year when i'm traveling Europe; and i figured this would be a good (and the only) opportunity for her to meet my US friends & chosen family

i did not expect her to suddenly really be into Drum and bass πŸ˜‚

oh gotchu, i was wondering if there was a secret use case of dial calipers i didn't know about that someone buying their first pair should consider.

any good calipers are good calipers but bad calipers might be worse than no calipers

01.02.2026 08:13 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

100 percent agree on having good calipers, but why *dial* calipers specifically? i feel like especially if you dont use them everyday, readability and being able to easily take incremental measurements are arguments for a nice pair of digital calipers?

Kp of 5 is pretty tame, just barely a G1.
impressive tho to have four days with those in the past week

from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LiMux:
"In 2018, journalistic group Investigate Europe released a video documentary via German public television network ARD that claimed that the majority of city workers were satisfied with the operating system, with council members insinuating that the reversal was a personally motivated decision by mayor Dieter Reiter. Reiter denied that he had initiated the reversal in gratitude for Microsoft moving its German headquarters from Unterschleißheim back to Munich."

"compatibility issues" between Microsoft's lobbying and the mayor's integrity, yes
