Today: The Ballad of Dorothy Parker from Sign O' The Times
Another Prince favorite of mine, with hallmark weird Prince lyrics, sexual vibe, but lots of subtle musical elements.

I'm used to seeing ductless mini-split heat pumps in multifamily buildings across California, but today I saw an affordable housing project in New Jersey with ductless mini-splits.
They make so much sense - more efficient, easier to install & maintain, no duct losses. Glad to see the market growing
I feel like your side quoting Russell Westbrook is a point for my side.
That table is San Jose State Spartans slander #SJSU
At what point would internet bros ever concede that Elizabeth Warren might be [much] smarter and better informed than they are?
I much prefer delay timers on bathroom fans to sensors:
- sensors fail
- sensors trigger even if you're just in the bathroom briefly
- lots of people don't like the fan on while showering
My preference: separate switch for fans on a timer. Once activated, fan stays on at high speed for 20 mins #IAQ
Day 3: Still Would Stand All Time, from Graffiti Bridge
This is weirdly one of my favorite songs. Listen all the way through bc it does start off slow. It picks up, and really shows off Prince's voice doing gospel. Seems unsophisticated but there are a lot of little flourishes on piano, drums, etc.
Breaking News: The U.S. was responsible for a missile strike on an Iranian elementary school, an ongoing military investigation found. The inquiry said the strike β which Iranian officials said killed at least 175 people, most of them children β was the result of a targeting mistake.
Iβd love analysts to really examine this game from the perspective of ref psychology. Sometimes refs seem to get in a mindset where what constitutes a foul creeps and creeps and suddenly they just blow a whistle on everything. It was the worst of the 2010s.
I will never watch that game, but I cannot fathom a game where the refs call that many free throws. Itβs justβ¦ gross.
Maybe not tanking, but it is hot garbage.
43 free throws is a crime against the sport.
Ok, it looks like Pretty Good Advice has finally opened full-time in San Jose. Hereβs a crappy picture of their menu taken from the Paseo (had my dog, couldnβt go in). I havenβt eaten there yet, but plan to go very soon.

today: Nothing Compares 2 U
This song was made famous by Sinead O'Connor (which is amazing), but it was written by Prince. A recorded version is out there as a single and on a compilation Originals, but I prefer the live version on The B-Sides w/ Rosie Gaines.
Just reviewed a #LEED multifamily project in NYC. It's in a nook of The Bronx, not near the subway or what anyone would call a transit hub, and it has no parking.
But bc LEED requires a transit count, I know there are >700 daily bus rides within 1/4 mile. "Near transit" can have lots of meanings.
Posted two weeks too late :(
Which is ok. I bought a pair from our local nursery (which sells their own) and Iβm def happy to support them.
Test of obsequience?
βWho will not wear the shoes I give them?β
FYI. In response to my comment, someone suggested I block people like you to avoid the re-posts. That's gonna end up hurting the entire org, and its writers.
Not new - and I've raised this before. Your suggestion is a really good one, but shouldn't be needed. I really like @wired.com and I think they're hurting themselves (and their writers) with this tactic.
C'mon, @wired.com, you just posted / re-posted this story 6 consecutive times. Please don't re-post someone else's post that's basically just your original post.
Is this at an elementary school? Genuinely looks like a rack for scooters.
... or maybe a place to lock-up the bad kids?
I've been listening to Prince so much I'm gonna post once daily this week w/ songs that I love that may be less known to non-fans.
today: Starfish and Coffee from Sign O' The Times
A pretty simple but very joyful song. One of the first songs to get my wife into Prince a little.
I found myself up late last night listening to Prince. I gave a listen to the Alicia Keys version, which is genuinely great, but it mostly just reminds me how incredible the Prince version is. His work on the piano is brilliant.
Give this song a long listen w good headphones.
An all-time great (artist and song)
In honor of the 150th anniversary of Alexander Graham Bell receiving a patent for the telephoneβ¦
As someone who hated how his dad played, how does Cam compare? Does he also muscle guys to the fullest extent allowed by the refs?
Thirsty clickbaits make people more likely to unfollow you on BlueSky.
Planning a Slay play/watch party with a friend and all our kids. Man, we have sunk some hours into the original.
