was just saying that. Because if you can't go over Azerbaijan then you can't fly north of the Gulf without going into Russian airspace.
Yeah it's a no-brainer. Β£2.50 to use park and ride sites and buses to and from the city for two adults and three children. Against Β£5 plus parking charges in the city centre.
And Cambridge is surely not where it is shown?
It's far more concenring that people who have not lived in the UK for years are allowed to vote. PS limiting voting rights to British citizens will really hack off the Irish.
Using the taxes paid by those who remained here.
At @stcatz for a course. I wonder if @duncanrobertson.bsky.social is around?
not sure whether people like @benansell.bsky.social or @profjanegreen.bsky.social would agree but it's an interesting question to mull over. Whether some of the independents would stand down and allow Reform to gather the populiat vote is another factor.
How many other constutuencies have demographics like Gorton and Denton - large Muslim minority plus significant number of students and youngish grads but also white working class - and where are they? Does East Oxford look like one of them?
The collapse in recruitment of nurses from overseas laid bare.
What's happening with the Amos review? Here's the HSJ podcast with Annabelle Collins, @emilyltownsend.bsky.social
and myself talking about progress so far... www.hsj.co.uk/hsj-health-c...
Are you Cyclox' new treasurer?
Could you volunteer with our team of friendly trustees?
We're not looking for an accountant, just someone with a head for figures who wants to see more people cycling more often and more safely in Oxford, more info here www.cyclox.org/index.php/wo...
I've shared it with the cycling advocacy charity I'm involved in: can help guide our communications.
Currently waiting for a fourth date for Thames Water to install a meter - 3 attempts failed because the engineers had not been informed it was external to the hosue and required digging. Unbelievably inefficient organisation.
I've seen very little thinking on that level in the UK. Love the idea of not using words or phrases which accept opponents' framing of the issues.
I wonder if they have to submit data on how many they have answered for annual reports or to NHSE?
I've seen one case of violence against a cyclist and a second of threatened violence on local social media in the last week.
there is also an "old" issue around patients kept on ambulances for long periods - paramedics aren't trained to offer care beyond the short term, ambs aren't equipped to offer food/loos etc.
Okay, this is quite outstanding from Bedford Council.
they seem to have upped their profile - lots of TV advertising (esp during the Tour de France last year...not sure they are hitting the right demographic there)
yes, that wound me up too. Wanting seperate vaccines = 4 times as much NHS time spent vaccinating and less capacity to see others.
it went on the market for Β£15m originally. I could never see how having a Β£17m mansion for men (bet is was mostly men!) to cogitate in amounted to altruism, effectiv or otherwise, but may be I was missing something,
did OUH explain how it reduced the cardiothoracic waiting list from 99 to 5?
Is the gov about to drop the commitment to 15K medical students by 2031-32? Many people believe so - and the numbers are already below trajectory unless additional international students are counted. My piece for the BMJ www.bmj.com/content/392/...
meanwhile the rest of the country is rapidly going cashless....
Breaking: UK government is confirming itβs dropped plans to delay local elections at 30 English councils
Odd point about the ICO: it asks if it can share your arguments for release of info with the public body which is refusing to release it. But it won't share their arguments with you. Not a level playing field?
We will penalise women who don't have <more> children is one of the most chilling statements I have ever heard from a politician.
throughout the NHS I see orgs having to play catch up because of lack of investment over the last decafe or so. Trusts' risk registers are stuffed with failing infrastructure and equipment. Yet the chances of significant investment now seem slight.
