I want people who are a part of making (supposedly) mid or bad games to still be employed.

I am now extremely anxious about who I have let down so far or if I have fucked something major up administratively and I won’t know for weeks.

Having this happen after my mother’s hospitalization at the beginning of the year, which also destroyed my internal monitoring, has made being functional impossible, *especially* given that I was laid off right before that happened.

I am, to put it baldly, doing relatively bad in 2026.

It has been over a week since I’ve been back on my antidepressant and my brain is finally actively functional again.

Bluntly, the lack of internal coherence I had off the medication was horrifying and I am now chasing down everything that I had to handle during that time to see if I fucked up.

People without the academic skill set or ability to assess personal bias are unable to craft anything other than a showy reel of bullet points that do not equal the grand assertions they make.

I need yall to realize that you have to be judicious about any and all video essays, including (and especially!) ones that affirm your pre existing feelings. Merely talking for an hour and loosely connecting points is insufficient essay building. Often, the connections are specious at best.

I’d love to peruse this, and possibly test this out later on.

I LOVED Stampede, but Stargaze has been a bit of a disappointment in how much it refuses to steer into the dark side of the story.

Wolfwood killing Rai-Dei because he won’t surrender to Vash (because of the weight of the sins he committed to achieve power, something all the Gung Ho Guns did) and keeps trying to kill him puts a huge rift between Wolfwood and Vash. It’s the start of the arc that leads to Lazlo.

…I’ve been worried we’re seeing a censoring of the source material. Leon, in particular, was a sad, fucked up man who dies horribly chasing after a puppet of someone he loved because he can’t overcome the humanity he abandons.

The skipping of Rai-Dei the Blade additionally points to this.

Letting him live, aged or not, feels like a direct refutation of the cost of sacrifice and sanitizes the series a bit more than I’m comfortable with. I thought after how they handled Hoppered, Stargaze would honor the darkness that is inherent in the conflict. But since Leon and Midvalley survived…

Ok I’m gonna spoiler dive on this.

Wolfwood’s death in the series is kind of a major event. The penalty he pays to save Lazlo, finally embracing Vash’s ideology over the murderous tenets of Order of Michael. He lost his childhood and loses his future. He’s a tragedy layered upon tragedy.
