Great recording session at Raccoon Castle East (aka my home studio) with the brilliant Joseph Martin Waters! The menu included my new solo piece “Proletariat Syncopations”, and Joe’s new solo piece “Cleansing” (inspired by Fats Waller, Art Tatum, and Stevie Wonder) for imminent release -stay tuned!
Had a blast performing last night at the Ellington Room in Manhattan Plaza, including the premiere of my own “Proletariat Syncopations”, as well as killer ragtime/stride-influenced pieces by Dan Cooper and Joseph Martin Waters, on a show called Rag Times, part of the Composers Concordance series.
Besides my own Proletariat Syncopations, I’ll be performing another ragtime-influenced piano piece by Dan Cooper called “Precariat”, which is a portmanteau of “precarious” and “proletariat.” Concert this Friday Dec. 5 @ the Ellington Room, Manhattan Plaza:
