My body is an ocean
where secrets rot on the seabed.
Every confession corrodes
the ribs that hold me,
like salt on metal,
like grief on bone.
And still,
I open my mouth—
a tide rushing out,
daring someone
to drown with me.

Digital manipulation of a plumbing diagram that reframes the parts of a toilet as elements in fiction writing. 650 pixels x 780 pixels.
I'm still proud of this piece, "[the narrative toilet]," which I made for a collaborative poetry collection written with Nathan Moore. McSweeney's even featured it on their site.
