A think a lot of people jumped over after the results of a certain event last week.

The updates to item formats bringing in components is a major change. Long term it will be absolutely fantastic, but we're one of the niche few servers who then have to go and update literally thousands of command blocks. It's a lot of work.

The news post mentions a lot of "science" downtime, which has been due to recent game updates changing a lot of commands. Our science areas are mini-adventure map challenge areas and due in part to their age, they are run on command blocks not data packs.

I'm an Op over on this #Minecraft Server, which must be one of the longest running servers at this point. It's survival and mostly vanilla, and the main world hasn't been reset since its launch all the way back in 2011 when Minecraft was still in beta.

Oh absolutely. Even Troika barely got any support from Valve with the engine for the original. It's somewhat a miracle how well the fan modders have been able to do what it has.
