@neoarcade.bsky.social What is the meaning of this? How are my words translated into sound? Alphabet soup.

That was almost the title of my student's master's thesis. We had to brainstorm a bit more! π I'm reading your paper! We should catch up soon!
How do you know he's not?!
Super excited to be at the University of WΓΌrzburg giving a lecture for the CODAMUS series π΅ π§ͺ. Many thanks to @fabianmoss.bsky.social for hosting!
βΉοΈ oh no! Hope you get where you're going soon! Also, how exciting! (Does this mean Boston Phil is on break or you are??!)

Super excited to be invited to speak at Penn State today on π΅π§ͺresearch our lab has been doing on earworms and pop music analysis! (If anyone is interested, my 2023 theoretical paper on earworms is open access can be found here: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...)
I had a great experience with this recently. If others are aware of more journals in our field accepting "(pre) registered reports" please chime in!
Thanks for this, @tuomaseerola.bsky.social I couldn't agree more! Just wanted to mention a few journals actually have a model for this "baked into" the submission process. E.g., Attention, Perception and Psychophysics has a "registered reports" track (no upload 2 OSF, but I don't think they object).
I see. Maybe hashtags and emojis is better? We'd have to blast that out to ensure everyone knows. Is it big enough to need to act on it just yet?
Hmmm, bummer. No luck eh?
Wow SOOO many posters! Bummed I had to withdraw at the minute. I had completely forgotten about family responsibilities for that weekend. Looks like it was a great conference!

We just reviewed this at our journal club. Would love to hear your thoughts!
So, this is not my area, but there was a really interesting poster at DLfM 2021 with a super promising software for this. Link is still up: dlfm.web.ox.ac.uk/files/5jakli.... I'd suggest reaching out!
Is there some shortcut to get those emojis? That's way more cumbersome than hashtags...
Happy Birthday! (It's my son's birthday too. Good choice! π)
That's awesome. I had a teaching release this past spring and it was the same thing. So much more productive. Glad you're making it work!
Dude, are not teaching or what?! You're giving me productivity anxiety! π
Omg I know. Yesterday was our first day where the high wasn't in the 80s. It was wonderful
Do share! I love reading great, well written papers π
Agreed. ISMIR has one and I use it all the time
In my article the opposite was artificial. Though that was poor too, as it wasn't exactly Dowling's "skimpy stimuli" but yeah, I can see that reaction. (hmm maybe Marcus was my reviewer 2 π¬)
So... I went to the ICMPC website today to try to DL it but got a 404 error. Are you still able to access or maybe you have another link?
Can you write it off as a business expense?! π
Invoice email?! Isn't it free?
Interesting. How do you play it in a league if only one person can play at a time?!!
You are making it seem like skee ball is something you play in a league or something. Isn't it that fair/arcade game?! Am I missing something? (Also, sorry you feel crappy, hope it passes quickly!)
Whether you have private health insurance?! (And then find someone who can explain your health insurance to you! It's no joke!!)
I like constructed/deconstructed also. I have an as-yet-unpublished paper (finally accepted) using "real" and "reduced" versions of stimuli to examine the role of ecological validity and one reviewer (probably reviewer 2) got on the ecological validity soapbox so ya... tread carefully! π
