Ive never redesigned quite that much, though i did dabble briefly in building my own system but, my theory is the TTRPG of Theseus.

For me personally, is that i know it. While the difference between Building a full TTRPG and hacking core systems are similar in work required. The perceived task size is very different. Not everyone wants to commit to making an entire system, but they just want a different spell system.
Redesigning core systems in a TTRPG you already know is step four of the Five Steps to Crafting Your Own TTRPG.
1.Homebrew Settings/Lore
2.Homebrew Items/Statblocks
3.Designing adventure modules
4.Redesign core system
5.Building your own TTRPG
Anyone got some of them Discord alternatives? I dont feel like giving my ID to another corporation just this moment.
My toxic trait is trusting that my sense of time is accurate, when doctors have already told me otherwise.
Me: Oh where's the pic i took a few days ago?
Me: Actually checks only the last week or two
Pic: Was taken last summer
This hurt. Thank you
Updated version of this thing. I really like the way this looks.
This acts as a "I opened a new post and started typing then talked myself out of it in my head so now I have to decide to backspace it all and start over or just hit cancel" button.
Do you have a normal step by step for creation? I'd be real curious to know your thought that's on that tbh
#daggerheart community, do you pick Traits based off your Class, or pick your Class based off your Traits?
Ok now that i have this Kohd thing pretty much figured out and tweaked for my games, i guess its time to think about a #daggerheart lifepath system.
@darringtonpress.bsky.social ?
This right here? This is a masterpiece.
I bought that book to read. I'm so very glad I did. It's a fucking trip! Very happy I own it
Why do I do these things to myself here is a snip example of how I'm tweaking #daggerheart Kohd for my home games. There's a lot more I wanna do, like tweaking how sentences are written, and adjusting the symbols between words n such.
Paint me like one of your French bats
Why verb?
I hate starting a new save of #Cyberpunk2077 so much.
The problem with designing a villain whose look is military chic but NOT wanting the result to be too obviously fashy is that the conceptual space of "military chic but not obviously fash" is occupied by high school marching bands, and you need to decide for yourself whether you're okay with that.
The party clearly angered the Untitled Goose. This appears to depict the whimsical and nonsensical consequences being enacted again and the party. Someone had their coin purse turned into a duck, and someone else had their ear replaced with a long neck Canadian goose body.
You... believe in water? Couldnt be me
Oh for sure not "do you wanna build a snowman" weather. But that would be great up in the mountains so we actually have water this summer
I would have taken some of that snow off y'all's hands. We have had a really dry winter this year and we need it
I know different languages do things differently and I think English is a noun centric language but I'm also stupid so
Gah any linguistics minded folk (maybe also familiar with Kohd from #daggerheart) I can pick your brain? I'm making some modifications to it and I want to root the changes in reality.
What word type (noun, verb, adverb, etc) would you say is the more central to sentence structure?
Anyone have a part number for the ADHD Creativity Stopper? Mine broke and I really need a replacement as soon as possible.
My hobby desk was cleaned off for like maybe 2 days...
Simplest explanation is it's an extended character background. It's more common in older ttrpgs, like Traveler. Basically you go through each stage of life and flesh out more backstory.
There's a pretty wide range of complexity to some of them. Traveler does it job by job in 4yr chunks.
So funny story..I'm not building my TTRPG anymore cause @daggerheartrpg.bsky.social does most of the stuff I wanted out of my own system.
Except a life path system. I'm tempted to build one of those for DH #daggerheart
There's a predictable approach to denial that we're already seeing, which I call the Four Pillars of Disordered Doubt, which allows actors to constantly question evidence that don't fit their preferred narratives.
