It's a Montreal Bagel, idealy a St-Viateur-style, but Fairmont-style will do fine as well.

Gas price being that cheap does not help to change the model for sure. I knew gas was cheap but this here is how it became real for me.

No offence to Richard here at all, but I am amazed at how cheap gas is in the States. 30$ for a tank is "2020 crude oil was under 0$" type of price here. It explains a lot about the car culture - although not why we import it so much!

Meme showing hot peppers saying "evolution can you give me capsaicin to deter mammals? I want birds to spread my seeds?" Evolution, rendered as a DNA double helix, asks "to deter mammals?" and the peppers reply "yes, to deter mammals, that is precisely what I said." Then it shows two cavemen excitedly yelling "mouth hot" at some peppers, to which the peppers say "wait what the fuck?" and the final image is a bunch of hot sauces and dishes, again captioned "what the fuck?"

It's one of my favorite topics to teach in sensory physiology-- how plants likely evolved capsaicin as a deterrent to keep us from eating them and that didn't work out so great for them (or did, since we now lovingly grow and cultivate them):

The latest European Grassland Butterfly Indicator is out. It shows that grassland butterflies have declined by 47% since 1991, indicating a huge loss of grassland biodiversity. The data come from 16,150 transects & 15,000 volunteers. We are calling for urgent action. www.bc-europe.eu/documents/69...
