Had a lovely evening at The Argyle Jam last night with Nikki MacLeod and @zosiasamosia.bsky.social. First time playing at a jam session in about 15 years. Some fudgy notes coming out of that saxophone, but it's nice to be gradually getting back into playing some jazz again after a long long time

What an excellent evening at the queer data showcase! Thanks to @kevinguyan.bsky.social for organising it. A really interesting mix of queer research, archival engagement and a bit of saxophone

A tall white woman in a floral short playing saxophone in front of a PowerPoint presentation. Black text on a white background reads: The data was hard to gather, but it tells a story about whโฆ itโsโฆ trans people whose gender is recategorisedโฆ thereโฆ a way to tell those stories.
The Queer Data showcase is fantastic. Lots of excellent funny, thought-provoking presentations and my highlight so far has been
@katherinewyers.bsky.social with improv sax accompanying her story of the emotional toll of queer fieldwork.
