I've always been skeptical of BRT proposals for NYC at best, but this - an idea that would cost hundreds of millions of dollars (at least) directly on top of our city's most reliable subway line to get bus speeds up to *10mph* - is absurd.

The AirTrain: helping you decide taking a cab makes the most sense since 2003
I fucking hate the American culture of entitled asshole selfishness. you see it everywhere. the driver assholes going 90 in a school zone. the assholes who donβt leash their dog or pick up their dog shit. the assholes who litter. the assholes who wonβt vaccine their kids
Hey. You should get the shingles vaccine when you're eligible. I'm assuming the President didn't.
Really couldn't just let me have this one could you
Hope he's in so much pain
people need to stop obsessing over this dumb shit right now
An 8 story apartment building
A literal country club is being replaced with an apartment building.
Previously through "member deference" Paladino would be able to block this project. However, with the new "affordable housing appeals board" if the council rejects it the Mayor and BP can approve it (and indicated they would)

"Moderna's CEO announced the company will no longer invest in new Phase 3 vaccine trials for infectious diseases: 'You cannot make a return on investment if you don't have access to the U.S. market. Vaccines for Epstein-Barr virus, herpes, and shingles have been shelved.β 9:12 AM Feb 12, 2026 604.8K Views
In terms of what cures are being lost:
- Epstein-Barr virus is perhaps the major trigger for multiple sclerosis
- herpes simplex virus causes cold sores, genital herpes, infections in babies, deadly meningitis
- shingles virus causes an intensely painful disease

It would be quite a feat to build a NY-NJ tunnel via the east river
Some of us have an expensive bottle of champagne ready for it
β’ And, finally, here's an opinion that goes beyond mere livable streets issues (and, uncomfortably, puts me in NY Post territory): Mayor Mamdani stance towards homeless people freezing outdoors right now is uncharacteristically complaisant. Fourteen people have died in the cold, and conditions remain life-threatening. He needs to bring people inside, even if he has to do so against their will. Many more will die otherwise - and 50 new single-room units, that the Times reported, are not enough. So that, plus the problems we mentioned throughout today's headlines, means we have to reset the Mamdani-O-Meter back to zero (from a high of 17 days). Sorry, mayor, but the safety of all New Yorkers is too important:
βWhy wonβt Zohran just kidnap peopleβ

My job on the other hand, sent us this memo. Dear staff, As our first significant storm of the season approaches, we think it is important to explain our company policy regarding operations during inclement weather. For those who have been with us through previous challenges-from natural disasters and power outages to the events of September 11th and the pandemic-you understand our commitment. For those newer to the team, we would like to share our philosophy. We believe provides an essential service as a neignpornood gathering place. We often act as our neighbors' kitchens and a space for comfort and connection. This is why we make every effort to remain open, frequently serving as the only accessible space in the neighborhood during a storm. We do not stay open for financial gain; in fact, operational costs during these times often exceed revenue. We do it because we take pride in our service and in the gratitude we receive from our community during difficult moments. However, our priority is your safety. As long as our

I went to the grocery store and everything was totally normal and not packed whcih was funny after hearing all these stories of Trader Joe's being a disaster right now, but I guess it's the people who see ube mochi pancake mix and peanut butter cups as essentials who are most likely to panic.
I'd recommend using the chat function on the MTA app if you have it

I realise I'm just a freak, but living in a multicultural city is the best thing of all time, it's just the best possible human experience and i can not understand why anyone on earth would be like "weve got to destroy this"
