It's an even bigger slap in the face because other monster catching games where they genuinely poured their heart creating designs get shafted/stolen while this trash gets awarded.
Artists already have it hard in this day and age and now they have to deal with this shit too... :(

There's a reason why I loathe lameworld (you know which game) since it's inception.
People championing it and celebrating infringement just to "stick it to Pokémon/GameFreak" only enabled others to ripoff and plagiarise from others cause they can get away with it
