CBC Radio’s Day 6 asked me to come on the show to talk about the long awaited arrival of SCTV to streaming (in Canada only, on Prime). What took it so long? And why do I say it’s the greatest TV show of all time?
Here’s the interview and it’s on the radio Saturday am

🎉 Welcome to the Public Domain, FIDDLING AROUND (1930)! 🐭🎶🎻
🎬 The star looks a little odd because this is the first Mickey cartoon not animated by Ub Iwerks. It's also the first Mickey released by Columbia Pictures.

According to Leslie Nielsen, the ABC president said it was canceled because viewers had to pay close attention to the show in order to get much of the humor. Really.

“Pioneer” is the word: lesbian heroine Sylvia Townsend Warner wrote 7 utterly distinct novels which you probably don’t know since they are all so different to each other, 150 short stories, a history of Tudor church music and much else. Her (umpteen) letters are fascinating.

David Ellison’s HBO Headache
Integrating Paramount’s new “crown jewel” into his company could prove difficult.
David Ellison says he wants to give HBO and Casey Bloys the independence and resources to do what they do best. Question is, what does he think that is, and can it mesh with what Cindy Holland is doing at Paramount+. My latest, up now at @vulture.com:
