I barely have any experience with Unit Testing or Integration Testing. My undergraduate didn't teach it, and everywhere I've worked has insisted it's a waste of time. I used a ton of unit tests when making an NES emulator in Rust, but bugs still got in.
Anyone have recommendations for learning?

Glare. I really need more practice drawing people... #pixel_dailies
It's not out yet, but I really enjoyed my time with the Magical Princess demo (store.steampowered.com/app/3562120/...)
Other than that, I really enjoyed Galaxy Princess Zorana.
There's some flavorless yogurt options, if the taste is the problem.

It's not even really a Metroidvania. Someone made a graph of the room connections of the Prime games, and 4 is literally just a straight line.
Such a shame too. The game looks absolutely beautiful, but doesn't really have much to show off the beauty.
Looking to potentially get my Master's Degree internationally, but those tuition rates are so bad. Nearly 5 times the cost of domestic...
Kicking an addiction is hard, and it's a never ending fight. You should be proud of every step you take to ensure you don't fall back into it.
That is 100% how I would solve it, even though I'm sure there are probably smarter ways to do it.
There were a lot of really good demos this time! I'm looking forward to the games coming out, and wishing all the developers good fortunes.
That's it for the demos I played for #SteamNextFest . I ended up playing 40 demos in total, and the ones I'm most looking forward to are:
Astral Wizard Orb
Forbidden Solitaire
Modulus
MythMatch
Find Matt's Cats
Magical Princess

Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times
A fun platformer/puzzle game where you combine 1-5 spell components at a time in order to navigate the near-abandoned world you find yourself in. The spell combinations were neat, and it really felt like there were many ways to solve everything.

ChloroLink
A game about satisfying plants so that you can grow out a root network to explore with. At first, I was worried there wouldn't be any pressure, but you actually have to pay attention to your plants, as their needs are constantly being depleted.
Steam banner of Cleaning Up!
Cleaning Up!
A satirical cleaning sim about the current gig economy. Mostly a game where you can turn your brain off while doing rote tasks. Offers quite a bit of replayability by increasing the dirtiness of old levels as you unlock new tools.

Stardust: Wish of Witch
A cute SRPG with a lot of polish put into its visual aspects and an interesting counter system in battles. Missing some QoL features, such as being able to move and attack in the same action, or an undo option. The translation was also a little iffy.
Steam banner of Project Solaris
Project Solaris
Roguelike raising game about raising a homunculus to battle for you. Battle is weirdly balanced, where status effects barely last long enough to even do anything with them. The translation was also pretty rough.
Should also mention that the title screen music for this is amazing!
Steam banner of Magical Princess
Magical Princess
A stat raising game with comfy vibes while still having edges. Reminds me a lot of the vibes in Rorona. It's very funny how all the shopkeeps becoming comically evil at night. Made the protagonist slightly evil and she solved a bullying problem through threats that increased stats!
Steam banner of MIGHTREYA
MIGHTREYA
A spectacle fighter like DMC where you control a newly minted superhero battling against kaiju while being streamed by a civilian who somehow has better movement tech than you. The audience can request specific combos, and fulfilling those requests boosts your score.
Steam banner of Monster Lily
Monster Lily
ASCII Roguelike that sticks very close to rogue and text based adventures. Almost everything is done through keyboard commands. I didn't really play much because that's not really something I'm interested in.
Steam banner of Spot Zero
Spot Zero
I didn't get to play much of this, as every attack would cause massive performance craters, to the point of getting single digit fps. Trying to open the menu to change settings caused the game to crash.
Steam banner of Tabula
Tabula
A neat little puzzle game about moving the stage around to capture all the goals and leave the level. It was quite challenging, even the levels in world 1 required stopping to think and plan out what I was doing.
Steam banner of Spacecraft
Spacecraft
An early build of a space exploration/automation game. Space flight is simplified, but intuitive, and creating the FTL drive was quite fun. Sadly, the demo didn't include any of the automation sections, so I can't comment on those. It was also reluctant to show loading screens.
Steam banner of Nophenia
Nophenia
Less a game, more an experience of wandering through surreal and creepy areas, akin to Yume Nikki. There wasn't much to the demo.
Steam banner of Annihilated
Annihilated
Has an interesting premise, where the protagonist runs into the Hero's party after their own was slaughtered, but each member of the party is broken in some way. I didn't manage to play very much, as it was greatly dragged down by a poor quality translation.
Steam banner of Tohotopia
Tohotopia
A Touhou 4x game. It was actually my first time playing a 4x game. I had a great deal of fun converting all the tiles to mountains to put mines on to feed into forges to level up my cities to get giant snakes. Don't think my opponent liked that as much though.
Steam banner of Darkhaven
Darkhaven
A really early build of a Diablo-like. The enemies are balanced pretty strangely, with some being able to solo me even at low levels, and others never being a problem. There's also a lack of complexity to combat, as there are very few abilities you can get.
128x128px pixel art of a blue, green, and orange sign of an irregular shape with the words "WARN WEIRD A-HEAD" written with nonstandard placement of letters. There is also a white skull in the bottom right.
Made a weird sign. #pixel_dailies
Poster for the movie Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (movie)
Decently entertaining, but not as good as the first movie. Feels like they were stretched too thin, having to keep track of too many different characters in different places. The low age demographic they're going for also makes them too scared to tackle anything mature.
