It’s now or never!
Lassi Thomson lowkey a plus player on a 22-28-8 team, and is third on the team in goals. Carter Yakemchuk is an adorable -33.
It's time to put 20 year-old Carter Yakemchuk in the impossible position of being asked to save our season.
In an unexpected twist, the entire Atlantic Division will miss the NHL playoffs this year.
A family drama in three acts
My favorite kind of press conference is the one you call to announce that nothing is happening. #nhltradedeadline
This is probably the most detailed article I’ve read about this trade
Godspeed, David Perron. You were really good for my hockey pool in 2018.
That Sens-Kings trade definitely qualifies as a trade, according to the NHL. Welcome to the Sens, Warren Buffett!
It's starting to feel like the Golden Knights are issued more draft picks than anyone else. They always seem to have assets to trade for players. I'd love to be on their drafting staff. Log into my email each morning, mark a couple of marketing emails as read, boot up Game of Thrones.
We need to return to being able to include cash in transactions. It would be so revealing of how franchises are doing / how they value players.
Still time to get Bjugstad, now that he sucks
“Aw man, I had this thing on the scanner setting. I’ve just been making copies.”
Dang, Weegar to the Sens is not to be. I’ve had that transaction finalized in my head for like three years.
Gotta love a guy who is measurably better than league average except when he has a man advantage, in which case he’s awful
Fun fact: Amadio had more ice time than any other forward but Pinto.
Sucks to blow the lead but after that third period the Sens are extremely fucking lucky to get out of there with a point. I’ll take it.
I’m just going to say it: I don’t like it when players do a big windmill with their arm after scoring. I think it’s mean.
Edmonton tied it up despite me turning the sound off on my television, something that I thought worked 100% of the time.
Love to spend an entire period playing like you’re on the penalty kill.
This third period is some collar-tugging, big-gulping fun!
Ullmark kicked some ass that period. You absolutely love to see it.
I always liked Pius Suter as a player. Wonder if St. Louis would part with him for a pick, maybe retain some salary. One season after this one, ~$4M salary.
Comes down to whether you’re confident you can re-sign Tkachuk in two years.
For sure. A big trade like that, everyone will act like they always knew the outcome
Brady Tkachuk for Rob Thomas would be interesting. Sure, Tkachuk only has a couple of years left on his deal, but it’s to St. Louis, the team he probably wants to go to eventually anyway. Salaries are a wash, same age. Sens end up with elite center depth of Stützle - Thomas - Cozens - Pinto.
When someone says mercury is in retrograde are they actually saying things are happening in their life because of the position of the planets or is it more of a “serenity now!” type of thing to say? (I’m not judging, just don’t know what level of irony I’m supposed to bring to this conversation.)
