Lots of sunshine for "Sheila" on Thursday, although the wind may tuck those ears back a little when she gets some outside time. She's available from Roxy's Ranch Haven β details here:

Still breezy on Thursday, but the winds will turn a bit to run parallel to the coast...and even turning offshore already in the North Bay late in the day.
Offshore winds will prevail Friday, allowing a warm-up to kick in that will send us to 10Β°-12Β° above-average this weekend!
If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.
A screenshot of the Polymarket website showing a prediction market titled "Nuclear weapon detonation by...?" under the Geopolitics and Ukraine categories. The market displays three betting options with their current probabilities and "Buy Yes" or "Buy No" prices: "March 31" at 5%, "June 30" at 12%, and "Before 2027" at 22%. The total trading volume shown is over $843,000.

That means it's sniffle season! Pollen count will be pretty high the next few days, especially on Saturday.
Lightning strikes behind a baseball field under dark storm clouds, with a stack of sliced bread placed on the pitcherβs mound. Large text reads βOne Strike, Youβre Out,β with βOutβ crossed out and replaced with βtoast.β Smaller text says, βWhen thunder roars, go indoors.β
DYK: a typical lightning strike has enough energy to cook approximately 1 million slices of toast? We do NOT recommend you do this, nor do we know how you would even try. In fact, let's just forget about this whole thing. Just make sure you head indoors when you hear thunder roar. #NationalToastDay

...and that's the unusually warm ocean temperatures off the entire California coast. We rely on the Pacific for our "free air conditioning" β this marine heat wave allows warmer and stickier air masses to invade the Bay Area on a more-frequent basis. 2/2
If you noticed the mugginess today, you weren't alone! Dew points were in the upper 50s to near 60Β°, which represents an elevated level of humidity in the atmosphere over the Bay Area.
The moisture was delivered by the latest atmospheric river, but there's another factor at play...

Morning fog will give way to afternoon sunshine on Thursday, with high temperatures topping out 5Β°-10Β° above-average! The warmth continues through Saturday, then we're back to near-average highs the first couple days of March.
This atmospheric river certainly defied our expectations!
Showers are finally starting to make more southward progress, and we'll see light to moderate rain this evening and tonight. Amounts will be modest, and the last of the showers should be gone by sunrise Wednesday.
11am radar update: This atmospheric river wobbled more than expected, pushing the rain WAY up north this morning. It will make its way across the Bay Area later today and tonight, but later than anticipated.
