Yes! ππ·

This is why you need to be careful around icebergs when in a small boat, kayak, paddle board, etc.
This. Yes, once feds change policies on prevention, insurance will stop covering it. Prevention never was profitable in a short enough time frame and it is government mandates that, well, made it mandatory.
Yet, to claim that the current administration is those pro-science.
This is what they wanted: to make government so untrustworthy β filled with ideologues, not scientists β to make the left make anti-government statements.
After 4 years, trust is not a simple switch to flip.
The main issue is lack of research. How can you have βevidenced basedβ diagnosis and treatment when the evidence base is lacking as the research was never done? Also missing is inquiry & curiosity when locked into 15 min visits & insurance dictated constraints.
The GOP Megabill: Largest Retraction of health insurance coverage in U.S. history
U.S. has been EXPANDING health coverage for decades, but HR1 is largest RETRACTION ever
The rise in uninsured will erase nearly all (84%) of decline in uninsured under ACA

Most likely, yes, we will habituate.
Unfortunately, very few people are willing to make the personal sacrifices and take risks needed to protect and defend democracy. Most people want stability and safety.
MLK wrote about this, the βmoderateβ who is the barrier to justice.
Public health has been decimated. Cuts to Medicaid will stress hospital systems to breaking & cause them to be even more understaffed than they are already. Long COVID research is dead & long COVID clinics are closing. I promise you, you donβt want to get COVID now. Please start masking again
Sunrise from the window
The breaking dawn
The solfness of the silence that reflects on the lake
Cow parsley almost covered the bend
May the stars carry your sadness away,
May the flowers fill your heart with beauty,
May hope forever wipe away your tears,
And, above all, may silence make you strong.

...could be many thing or combinations of things. We won't know until we have more data and studies. Unfortunately the funding to study such things is just not there. So, maybe it is the wearable companies getting into menopause as a business that will do these studies?
Could COVID also be the cause of these symptoms? Entirely possible. It could be that the focus on menopause and perimenopause on social media and in magazines is causing a focus on that when it is COVID. Or could be both. Could be.....
Both/and. Menopause is only taught to 1 in 5 ob/gyn and not at all to most doctors. Perimenopause is something you end up learning about from social media, not your doctor (who education lacked that topic). If "advanced maternal age" is 35 due to ovarian aging: perimenopause can start in 30s.
It is! Thanks! β€οΈ
If women are "allowed" or "expected" to be the "emotional" ones, then that is also where it as assumed that when women speak of real medical issues, they are seen as "weak" or "emotional" by doctors and nurses alike.
Yet we talk of "toxic" masculinity, a narrow form that is devoid of care, emotion, softness. Here was a full masculinity man, who was able to express his feelings rather than be "stoic" -- why can't we have a safe space within a newborn nursery unit for a man who shows emotions about his child?
And sexism or misogyny can also harm men: Example, recall an infant, years ago, where the med student noticed something on discharge exam, we got an EEG, infant was having massive seizures. Both Dad and Mom were in tears. Overheard nurses ridiculing dad for crying.
I'd say that -isms and -phobias are real overall. Medicine exists within society that is rife with things like sexism or misogyny. To be honest, in my experiences as a patient, as a doctor, as a caregiver, medicine and nursing are both affected by this issue.
If you care about libraries, and the stories they hold dear, you should be following Kelly. Sheβs been reporting whatβs happening from the beginning and we are so blessed she has been.
Today marks five years since George Floyd was killed by police. Our June 22, 2020 cover βSay Their Names,β by Kadir Nelson, illustrated how Floydβs murder embodies the history of violence inflicted upon Black people in America. nyer.cm/UmfefJw
Thanks!
Conditions that only affect women, or affect them very differently, have been systematically ignored or dismissed for most of medical history. Thankfully, that is changing, to the benefit of everyone.

A soft-toned graphic with floral illustrations and the message: βSending Love to Those Whoβ followed by five supportive statements, each paired with a different vase of flowers. The five categories are: β’ Are grieving a child β’ Are longing to be a mother β’ Have a complicated relationship with their mother β’ Are feeling alone β’ Are grieving a mother The image conveys compassion and solidarity for those experiencing emotional pain or loss, especially around Motherβs Day.
Motherβs Day is weird.
Mine did! And he looked a lot like yours.
Just the other day say a different headline saying we were the only cool ones. π€·π»ββοΈ
