The best ghost stories are history stories, so Iβve been looking for a book like this one by @leannareneehieber.bsky.social and @boroughsofthedead.bsky.social for a long time. Itβs a survey of stories, more focused on *why* these specific ones proliferate and what *that* means. Highly recommended.
Consistently happy to recommend.
it would genuinely be the funniest thing in the world if one of the richest person in the worlds personal newspaper got overtaken in print memberships with a paper that has stuff like this in it
A nationwide book ban bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives. Here's what you need to know about HR7661, including who is behind it, the history behind such bills, and what you need to do to stop it.

Flavor Flav supports women's sports, and seriously, who is going to miss the chance to go to a Flavor Flav party?

Dispatches from MN: it's getting really hard, guys. The media has left, the donations are drying up, and ICE is still here kidnapping people. It's hard not to be resentful that other people have the option of setting this aside for.other things.

Graphic for America's Most Gothic, with gold filigree edges and a moody, haunted house background, with Publisher's Weekly review text: "A spine-tingling investigation of ghostly mayhem and gory deeds. It's a satisfying combination of well-sourced fact-checking, thoughtful literary analysis, and creepy chills." From the authors of A HAUNTED HISTORY OF INVISIBLE WOMEN comes AMERICA'S MOST GOTHIC: HAUNTED HISTORY STRANGER THAN FICTION by Leanna Renee Hieber and Andrea Janes. The book cover features a teal background with a central haunted house (typical Gothic, mansard roof, eerily lit interior, surrounded by encroaching mist and overgrowing forest.) The text is in white script and the subtitle in a rich goldenrod yellow that mirrors the filigree detailing and quatrefoil corner pieces of gothic detailing around the edges.
SALE! I dislike the 'Zon but I *do* want folks to buy this book, co-authored w/ Andrea Janes of @boroughsofthedead.bsky.social! Our heartfelt take on U.S. & Canadian ghost lore meeting Gothic lit, AMERICA'S MOST GOTHIC, is a Kindle Deal of the Day!

I've said this before but I truly believe we could revitalize YA and kidlit overnight by switching to MMPB and paperback first. Kids want paperbacks! It is by far the biggest request I get from teen readers.
Since I have a lot of new followers, I will re-up this. Some folks just wanted to buy a couple whistles from us instead of getting 100-1000 FOR FREE (which you can do at the linktree in my bio!!!!!)
I just kinda stopped doing my day job at this point but etsy keeps us afloat! π€£π
Think about students, renters, women who changed their names, and rural voters without easy access to records. The SAVE Act makes them prove citizenship with specific documents or lose their voice. The people already on the margins get pushed out completely.

βHe canβt sleep well at night. He wakes up three or four times a night screaming, βDaddy, Daddy,ββ Liam's father Adrian Conejo Arias, said.
