Last week, Jared Isaacman announced major changes to the Artemis program. Read my update on those changes, and the confusion they've caused, now in @spacescout.bsky.social:
oh no!
Civil Rights activist Bernard Lafayette died today!
He was a Freedom Rider, a member of the Nashville student movement, and helped plan the Selma campaign
A muddy strawberry cart in a row
"Mauricio" shares, "I work in the strawberries. During the month of February, this difficult work became even harder. The mud made everything slow down as we could barely push our carts. Plus hours were cut because of weather and I couldn't earn enough to pay bills." #WeFeedYou
Often nature moments are envisioned and waited for.
You see something or imagine it might happen, and you have to plan and return multiple times
Often it never happens
Then there are the completely unexpected encounters
Like a baby goose hopping on mamas back
And it's FUCKING ADORABLE!

The deadline for comments is tomorrow for one idiotic proposal and Monday for the other. See Meredith's thread here for details.
Sea ice drifts in the waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence while cloud streets stream overhead.
That's awesome! π

Almost midnight here, bed is calling, but I couldn't resist having "just a quick look" at the latest pix to come back from Mars. Wow, some *beauties* taken by Curiosity, so of course I had to stitch them together to make these stunning views.

JWST continues to kill it
Just reboosting this to remind everyone that there's just two days left to submit comments to the FCC on these proposals. Hundreds upon hundreds of comments have been sent since I first posted this, which is fantastic to see. Make sure you send in a comment using the guide in the link before Friday!
I think about this a lot, the loss of perspective from being unable to see stars in the night sky
Nice little meteor over Tucson tonight.

A blood moon surrounded by stars
Hereβs a composite of last nightβs lunar eclipse and some stars taken a few weeks before from a completely different part of the sky. Makes for a lovely phone wallpaper.

That is almost a Connecticut worth of ice.
The most absurd Bingo cards this year are the real winners.
Cartoon clown administration.
Will take good news atp.
There is so much more History ahead to be sure.
Right on π
I just submitted my comments to the FCC, asking them to deny the requests for these terrible, catastrophic satellite constellations.

"Crazy day at the office today, Brad. Got shot down."
"They rejected your proposal?"
"No, I literally got shot out of the sky while flying."
"Ohhhh, glad you're okay!"
We have lived incredibly sheltered lives, all things considered.

As a mid-GenX kid with a WWII vet grandfather, I can tell you that it was finally my generation who did *not* beat their kid.
Took 3 generations in my family, and learning from my own severe abuse in childhood to finally stop perpetuating that echo of war in my own family.
Wars are never over.
We inheret a broken world, and leave a broken world.
WWII vets with PTSD beat the shit out of their Boomer kids, who in turn beat the shit out of their GenX & some Millenial kids.
Consequences are always generations deep.
