@ericsward.bsky.social I'll keep my FB account but am exploring other platforms. I have so many contacts on FB than span a lifetime. I'm pretty good at being blind to advertising and click bait.
And that's why neither side makes progress. Living in hate filled echo chambers. Hate begets hate begets hate. I don't hate them. I'm disgusted. I'm astounded by willful ignorance. I don't understand magical thinking. I do not help them, I vote against them. Ignore them. Block them.
Trying to become king on day 1 is hard and keeps one really really busy.
Agreed! Don't reply or acknowledge that kind of speech. Don't reciprocate hate speech. BlueSky allows us block those kinds of people.
I guess I don't want to act like them. I see this exact same comment directed towards people like me and you on other platforms. I never reply to them. Again - isolation in an echo chamber doesn't challenge me to continually think critically while examining my own prejudices.
Why wouldn't we welcome them? It is important to see comments like this. It reinforces why we came here. Responding to the comments is what they want. Why give them that? Echo chambers are not productive. I am grateful for the firefighters from Mexico!
