There are shadows of Sally Potter's "Thriller" in Gyllenhaal's "The Bride!" As well as traces of Kathy Acker. And undoubtably the film can be read through Kristeva's theory of abjection, "what disturbs identity, system, order. What does not respect borders, positions, rules".

I enjoyed it. It's like Bonnie & Clyde meets Sid & Nancy meets Frankenstein (ofc) and Jessie Buckley is pretty great.
Just got home from seeing The Bride! It was really good. I don't think I've seen Jessie Buckley in anything else but she was fucking great in this. Maybe I should see Hamnet?
