I’m like 99% sure this will work because he told me he likes when metal bands have “Tim Burton parts” in their songs. The children yearn for Bungle.

my name is Ben. no colon, no masters. antizionist jew. Used to do a blog about black metal & beer, but now I'm writing about music and life at traumaangel.substack.com all pronouns are fine, I'm too old to care how you perceive me

Sweet Gen Z coworker is a big avenged sevenfold fan and I’m using the fact that they recently toured with Mr. Bungle to force him to listen to California. Using my powers for good.
I genuinely think this is just anywhere he’s received placements. He also used to push hard for metal blogs to interview…him? So if you google his name you can find a few of those too. Would always recommend people avoid working with him. Just never heard anything good.
Yeah like I don’t ever want to speak ill of people I just dislike over petty things but I know a lot of lovely people who got totally burned by this guy and I think it’s really gross. I know you had a bad time and I hate that because you do so many cool things!
Oh he was doing this when his firm had a different name and no noteworthy clients to speak of, just a lot of people willing to give him a shit when “metal twitter” was more of a social club and he would chat with people online a lot.
Sad to see Curtis continue failing his way upward. Dude used to make a living scamming small artists for like $400 a month for his PR services to do nearly nothing. Genuinely shocked to see him representing bands people have actually heard of.
Screenshot of an ad on Instagram for a profile called “liberalmetalhead.” The image contains a relatively clean cut looking guy taking a mirror selfie with a graphic above his head that says “Liberal Metal Head” in red letters that look kinda like flames or maybe blood. Below it says “view Instagram profile” and then it says “a place to safely rage about social and political issues 🤘”

Getting one extra little "nice moment" each week really makes a difference in quality of life. Can't wait to have my small treats back.
Everyone's hours were cut at work like 6 weeks ago because it was slow. They come back to full next week. So excited to have money again so I can live my best artsy clown existence.
Israeli map showing all of southern Lebanon in red with yellow arrows pointing to north of the Litani river
The IDF just ordered the *entirety of south Lebanon* to be forcibly displaced.
They are emptying the land of its population, creating a massive crisis, and will now proceed to further annihilate large parts of Lebanon.
The very nation state of Lebanon is being destroyed.
Butterscotch, my relatively large catahoula/great pyrenees mix dog, coiled up into a little ball and burrowing her head into my chest while I cradle her to support her weight.
Butterscotch in a very similar pose to the first picture, but leaning out a bit to look at the camera. Her expression appears sad, but as someone who knows her I know this as her "I am a baby and need to be spoiled" face.

the anti-trans vein in democratic politics is driven primarily by democratic voters convinced by obsessed freaks in media that *other voters* are highly motivated by bigoted anti-trans attacks
I would have made so many albums by now if beer and video games didn’t exist. Maybe nothing a fraction as good as Whoracle but still
From Music :)
Not nearly as fun or upbeat, but I'm also gonna have The Endless Sea in my head for a while to come. What a haunting, brilliant song. It's easy to focus on Lust for Life and The Idiot when talking Iggy, but goddamn he's had so many great songs and albums.
Decided to listen to New Values by Iggy Pop this morning while opening up the restaurant and I'm going to spend the next week with "Tell Me a Story" stuck in my head. That opening verse is just perfect. Rest of the song isn't too bad either.
It’s what he is known for!
Today at work I served Damon Albarn from Music. Probably the most famous person I've met at a job. No, I did not acknowledge who he was. I just let him enjoy his meal.
There's some things I didn't adore (as with any game I'll ever play, I'm sure) but I really appreciated that both the morality and romance systems were more complex than most other games I've played. More nuance and honesty makes it feel a lot less binary and more real.
Finished the Mass Effect trilogy this evening. I kinda knew there was never going to be a resolution that felt good, but it really hit me hard. Incredible games and I'm so glad I got to spend some time with them. Far ahead of their time. Maybe better than the Fallout series.
I'm tired of being uncertain whether my actions will improve an animal's quality of life. I'm ready to KNOW things will be worse.

I know OF cryptic crossword and I know the way the clues work is very different, but I’ve never done one before. I’m going to look up an introductory guide to the format and see what I can learn. Your games are often more cerebral than I can keep up with, but I enjoy trying!
Jake is one of the cleverest, most intelligent people I've had the pleasure of knowing (for 20+ years now). I have no doubt that this crossword is going to be challenging and delightful, just like every other game Jake's ever shared with me. Check it out!
No he hasn’t
The whole “industrial nu metal” thing is still like catnip for me. Big keys and mechanically fast loud guitars just always works and these guys are among the finest

My dog Butterscotch looking salty and sleepy about five minutes ago
Butterscotch looking sad and weird while being held by me this morning
Tiny four month old Butterscotch a couple years ago being afraid of the staircase in my old apartment building
Butterscotch smiling big at the dog park a couple summers ago when she was maybe seven months old
Met this little clown two years ago today and all she ever does is act evil, snore, and try to steal my food. I love her more than anything in the universe.
Those are the two I'm always seeing mentioned! This one not so much, but a chance to be introduced to his work in the proper setting still feels like something I should take advantage of.
Is Nostalghia a good first Tarkovsky film? It's showing near me soon and I'm trying to go to the theater more often in general, but I know nothing about this film or its maker.
