Today, Lithuania's Capital Vilnius turns 703 years young! π±πΉπ In 1323, Grand Duke Gediminas launched a diplomatic mission to open up Vilnius to Europe by sending letters and inviting European traders, merchants and knights to choose Vilnius for free trade, land and freedom of faith.

Today, on January 13, we gathered together with Lithuanians in Brussels at the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to commemorate 35 years after tragic events of soviet aggression against civilians, and remembered the Freedom Defenders.
We will never forget why we are free.

At the #GAC meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister π±πΉ Sigitas Mitkus urged faster implementation of the European Defense Readiness Plan, additional funding for the protection of the EU's eastern borders, and addressing the threats of increased Russian drone airspace violations.
GPS jamming and spoofing threat is a European problem. In Lithuania, more than 1,000 aircraft and 33 ships experienced navigation signal disruptions in August alone. We see the trend that Russia is investing much more in this activity, Lithuanian Ambassador Nerijus AleksiejΕ«nas told @politico.eu.

1000 days of avoidable tragedy. 1000 days of lost time. 1000 days of sacrifice and heroism of Ukraine's best and bravest. 1000 days of defiance against 1000 days of terror. 1000 days too many. And if we stick with our current failed strategy, the next 1000 days might be worse.
Today and everyday, #Lithuania stands strongly with #Ukraine, because Ukrainians are fighting for all of us, all of the free and democratic world.
It is hard to fathom that 1000 days has already passed, with this brutal destruction of innocent people, lives and environment.
