It's pretty amazing how much that simple action can calm your mind. Feels like my thoughts have been racing non-stop all morning, and just like that, a moment of peace. It doesn't solve everything and requires diligent attention, but it works.

Bonus: It helps train your brain to slow down.

If you struggle with anxiety or feeling overwhelmed, the best exercise I can recommend is to focus on your breath.

Let your breathing continue naturally, and count the inhales and exhales. Anytime you lose count, non-judgmentally notice, and start again.
