this game has a lot of "permanently lock yourself out of some item/route" interactions which would be nightmarish to figure out on your own, but it gives you a guide to itself in a couple ways, mainly through plaques posted around the game with small comics attached. seems very replayable
something i find very impressive about this game is that its mostly about finding secrets yet very rarely creates secrets which make me feel cheated. some of them feel a bit silly but its a small minority imo
Queen of treasure isle. no one knows about it and its the best metroidvania ive played in forever. its by Gobou (the guy who does Yume Nkki animations). fwiw the gameplay isnt like this section on average but it does have a few of these time trials and the movement feel amazing to figure out
one of the better Aesop Rock projects imo

because of the creator being "the yume nikki animation guy" i assumed the game would be sparse and focused on ambience but there is a shocking amount of video game in a fairly small amount of space here, much of which is entirely optional
ive been endlessly impressed by this game. very strong recommendation for Queen of Treasure Isle if you want a pretty dense metroidvania with lots of exploration, secrets, platforming, and a few solid boss fights
im surely missing something because idk how they expect you to get 25 seconds on this, but they fit such an unbelievable amount of video game into this game. these platformer sections are pretty hidden and you could probably complete the game not knowing they exist at all
