A male bumblebee covered in pollen clings to the tip of a large deep pink flower bud of Hibiscus moscheutos with his wings standing out. He has scattered pollen all down the side of the bud, which is tightly furled, and has a row of long, narrow pointed sepals coming from the stem, surrounding the bottom like a cage.
