We have successfully frozen their brand-"critical race theory"-into the public conversation and are steadily driving up negative perceptions. We will eventually turn it toxic, as we put all of the various cultural insanities under that brand category.

The goal is to have the public read something crazy in the newspaper and immediately think "critical race theory." We have decodified the term and will recodify it to annex the entire range of cultural constructions that are unpopular with Americans.

Chris Rufo famously laid out the plan in a pair of tweets in 2021, but it never would’ve succeeded without enthusiastic support from the centrist wing of the Opinionati, who sanitized and amplified the RW talking point that the Leftβ„’ had β€œgone too far.”

The problem with "culture war is a distraction from class war" is that "culture war" isn't an abstraction and the people harmed by institutional bigotry are every bit as real as the people harmed by wealth and income hoarding.

In fact, they're often the same people.

Culture war IS class war.

This whole thread.

It's all connected.

None of these struggles exist alone. Care about everyone. Work on every axis of oppression.

Oppression is intersectional, and so then the fight against it must also be.

Still no censure of Tommy Tuberville, Randy Fine, or Andy Ogles, who are openly promoting hate against Muslims while the US is bombing Iran, killing the Ayatollah, and people like Lindsey Graham are calling it a "religious war" DURING RAMADAN.

How do you think this all ends, folks?

A striking feature of Trump and his team is: they somehow imagine a world in which they are the only actors, only ones with power, and whether it's Tehran or Minneapolis are surprised when it turns out others do. There are many kinds of power and many nations with power.

This admittedly humanities-ignorant CHILD was one of two tasked by DOGE to go through open #NEH grants and decide which could go on the chopping block. They have since left the government to start a technology company called Special. Don't know what that is, but let's ensure it fails. /2 #DOGE

Nathan Cavanaugh Deposition in ACLS-AHA-MLA Lawsuit About the NEH, Part 2 of 6 YouTube video by American Historical Association

The discussion to review the #NEH for #DOGE cuts lasted one minute, according to deposition with Nate Cavanaugh. It was not one of the agencies singled out by Executive Order but one "proactively" chosen as a potential "useless agency" and a place to make cuts.

"Cars are the most absurd means of transport in a city. They are parked 95 per cent of the time. It takes two tonnes to move someone who weighs 70 kilogrammes. And the denser the city, the more absurd it is."

Scott Bessent got called away to the Situation Room mid-interview.

When he got back, he was asked what was happening. Bessent said Trump was in "great spirits."

He then randomly volunteered that he had a teen "considering military service" and would trust his child's life with Trump and Hegseth.

U.S. Plan to Unblock Strait of Hormuz Collides With Realities of Global Insurance The U.S.-centric insurance idea runs counter to the realities of an international market, according to industry executives.

"U.S. officials called London insurers and brokers, trying to figure out how the market operates, industry insiders said."

When applied to the current administration, I urge caution in using terms like "plans," "strategy," "policy," or "doctrine."

Again, leaders of other countries don’t talk this way. The glee with which our current leaders talk about killing people is not normal, and nor is their lack of concern for who exactly we’re killing. American bombs incinerated 100 kids in Minab. Were those the β€œright people”?

Kristi Noem has done a stunning amount of damage and it’s good she’s gone.

But this doesn’t change the fact that we need a complete overhaul of DHS, impartial investigations into the killings of two American citizens, and information on children that were taken from Minnesota.

And now here we are.. Trump starts a war without congressional approval or approval from the majority of Americans, but now we have to pay the full bill for whatever he decides he wants to do because it would be unpatriotic not to let Trump do whatever he wants with our money.

In Defense of Effeminate Boys

In Defense of Effeminate Boys If anyone had suggested that I might really be a girl, I don’t know how I would have responded. By Ben Appel

If medical authorities have a rigorous way of distinguishing effeminate boys from transgender kidsβ€”or of distinguishing transgender kids from proto-gay kidsβ€”they aren’t saying. I have met a number of detransitioned gay men who tried to live as women for a time because they and their families were so averse to homosexuality. According to a 2019 report in The Times of London, staffers at Britain’s foremost gender-identity clinic joked darkly that, as a result of the facility’s work, β€œthere would be no gay people left.” A statement last month by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons noted that there is no validated way to assess whether a child’s gender distress will persist over time or disappear without medical intervention. A lack of good research and recordkeeping means that we may never know how many patients who would have been considered effeminate gay boys not so long ago have undergone medical treatments for gender dysphoria.

Absolute trash. The author did not speak to a single medical professional and the article does not contain a shred of evidence that effeminate gay boys are being bamboozled into thinking they're trans.

Paperback edition of There Is No Place for Us: Working and Homeless in America by Brian Goldstone

Today the paperback of THERE IS NO PLACE FOR US is out.

It's arriving in a country once again waging warβ€”a country that can spend tens of billions on bombs without blinking, while millions of Americans are one missed paycheck, one rent hike away from homelessness.

Let's take stock of where we are.
