Samuel Basallo has catcher’s gear on and is heading to the stadium field for workouts
Samuel Basallo said he feels fine today and he thinks he’ll be back in games shortly. The pain in his right abdomen felt akin to a cramp, he said. He said additional testing would be up to the org but he didn’t know if that’s needed
Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said it was his decision to remove Samuel Basallo (right side abdominal discomfort) and called it “precautionary.”
Albernaz said Basallo could have stayed in game, but it’s Feb. 26.
Albernaz doesn’t believe Basallo will undergo any testing.

He played Monday, I wouldn't alarmed unless he goes 3 consecutive days without playing, so keep an eye out to see if he's in the lineup tomorrow.

As someone who hosts a podcast that is 99% hardcore baseball,
I think we need more (not fewer) podcasts that are about 20% hardcore baseball, 30% tomfoolery, and 50% obscure music references.
I think this one of the most interesting things I've written in a while. As everyone tries to light up the pitch models, the pitch models are having a tougher time telling everyone apart.

There’s always the possibility they’ve come back around on Mayo’s 3B defense a little bit.
If they trusted Mayo at 3B i think this could be the 13.
But he is ROUGH over there
If you don’t have a Jackson-like player on the roster, you’re looking at these 13 right now:
C: Adley, Basallo
1B: Mayo, Mounty, Alonso
INF: Westburg, Gunnar, Holliday
OF: Ward, Cowser, O’Neill, Beavers, Taveras
Seems impossible that they would roster Mayo AND Mounty, so who takes that spot?
I’m fine with him starting in AAA, but I like a player in his similar mold being on the roster. Someone who can start 2 times a week and gives INF and OF guys a day off.
Maybe that’s not maximizing possible talent on the roster, but it’s just how I see it.
