The game made 180k (not counting publisher's 30% cut) which is very nice for a game made by one guy (plus composer and a singer). I'm guessing it made even more on Switch.

There's low budget games with huge commercial appeal (cool main menu, nice animations, music is good, the gameplay is fun enough...), for example Grapple Dog. It has the graphical style of a GBA game but it's super polished.
