Developed my first "walking around" roll from the Rolleiflex. Really could not be happier with this thing.

Found this very old, very much broken, typewriter. Decided it might make for some decent photos. The blurry one is with the old projector lens I've been experimenting with.

It's like we mashed up the Torment Nexus tweet with this one.
Unfortunately, “Yo brother, legal team confirmed we can’t work with minors rn” is an instant classic
Watched the first few episodes of this Young Sherlock series and it's really solid. Also, the lead is apparently Ralph Feinnes nephew which also helped me rediscover that their family name is the most absurdly British name "Twisleton-Wickeham-Feinnes"
If I recall, both shows shared a casting director in Nina Gold.
The worst version of the Portrait of Dorian Gray
Yeah, and like the lesson is that people really want outsider candidates who don't have the stink of "the Democrats" on them, it just unfortunately was this guy who got there first.
Especially in a nation with an all volunteer military. If we were conscripting people, maybe it's slightly different, but everyone there knew what they were potentially signing up for.
This image reminds me so much of the Nauvoo from The Expanse
Real mixed feelings. He was a guy who wrote some of my favorite books of all time and who also went completely off the deep end over the last couple of decades...

RFK Jr Announces Grocery Affordability Plan: It's Offal
Took me a second to see what this was referencing and my assumption was "some AI company just launched 'virtual employees'"
Had to test out the new Rolleiflex... Shot a few still life shots with the skull I 3D printed.

New camera day... somehow snagged this 1954 Rolleiflex for <$300. It came in today and works perfectly and barely has a scratch on it. I can't wait to get out and shoot this thing.
This feels like the idea I had that the secret truth of Star Trek is that the actual purpose for Starfleet is giving a release valve for the 1% of the population who can't deal with the boredom of living in a utopia and would otherwise jeopardize its internal stability.
Yes. Probably not, but it's not as strong as season 1. Probably so.
A Citroen, not a Fiat, but I loved this little blue one I stumbled on in Amsterdam
The amount of photography content that is now videos of people taking photos that never show the actual photo is what gets me. I just want to see the final product!
I'm talking about during class. Obviously I had other books.
It's probably not 1:1, but anecdotally something I've noticed with my kid is that, since she doesn't have text books she's only able to learn at the pace the school sets, whereas when I was in school I'd often be bored and wind up reading ahead in my textbook because there was nothing else to do
Legitimately a big reason why I've spent way less time in front of screens in favor of analog hobbies over the past few years. Looking at something I made and knowing that every bit of it was a result of a choice I made, even if that means it's imperfect.
Weirdly the first thing I can think of where Satan is portrayed as female is The Passion of the Christ. Which feels like that kind of makes sense with the Mel Gibson of it all
Ominous headline
Conjuring the vibes I got from the neovictorians in Neil Stephenson's The Diamond Age
Yeah, like, every few weeks there's a headline like "This CEO says 50% of all jobs will be gone by March" and it's treated like a good thing that is also just inevitable?
Right, like the robber barons were also immoral and deserved to have their wealth redistributed but at least people benefited from a rail road.
This sounds like it could have been the song sung over the credits of a 90s Will Smith movie where he also was killing demons.
Maybe we should allow just a tiny bit of bullying for the specific reason of making people scared to be open fascists
Took a gamble on an unidentified old brass lens on eBay and pretty happy with it. It's off of a very early movie projector - probably 1915-1920. Took a couple of test shots with my Graflex and some sheets of xray film and dig the results.
