Yeah I played the original Rune Factory when it spun out of Harvest Moon 😅 and then also 2 and 5. But imo Harvestella is leaps and bounds better. Rune Factory is largely like a regular farming sim that wanted to branch into fighting a little. Harvestella is more like a farming final fantasy.

Honestly it makes me mad instead 😂 I'm like "you have no sense of history!!"

Oh also, if you really like dungeons and final fantasy, I would also hugely recommend Harvestella. 2023 release that really won my heart even though it mostly flew under the radar

Coral Island is great! Its my favorite of the "modern era." Theres lots of other 2D pixel art style if you prefer that though!

Rune Factory is another good entry (originally a spin off of Harvest Moon) to the genre for sure

I'm begging farming sim lovers to both branch out from stardew and also realize that stardew (while great) is not the origin of this great genre and largely worked with and on what came before.

I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them
