He’s careful to point to standing with allies like Australia. I don’t get the sense that he’s saying Canada would join the US in their attacks on Iran.
I’m sceptical of Carney and disagree with a lot of the stuff he’s done but he’s answering a hypothetical here about the conflict spreading. He distinguishes between what the US is doing & highlights Canadian non-participation, while acknowledging unintended consequences that may change the calculus.

There wasn’t one person in the “SCTV” cast who wasn’t incredibly talented. But more to the point, they were all really cool people with a genuine love of comedy, and of comedy fans, and I think that’s a big part of why they’re each so revered. People like that never have to lament for their prime.
As the price of oil & gas explodes, I recently read about how the price impact is almost entirely speculative, as the *supply* of oil and gas hardly budges, particularly in places like Canada. It's all just straight up profits for the gas companies. Remember that as you fill up the tank this week.
Almost like shutting down safe consumption sites and funneling money away from harm reduction and into abstinence grifting makes things less safe and increases harms. This is consistent with decades of data and was completely predictable.
