It’s embarrassing to care about your Goodreads score. Though, I did once have an author once send me an unhinged six paragraph email after I gave her book a favorable review, but criticized her representation of American Indians as problematic. Apparently she ignored the entire rest of the review.

This reads like someone who got a negative review once and took it VERY personally.

Reviews are for readers to find out what will suit their taste, not authors! A bad review does not make the book objectively bad.
