After the breeding season is complete, male Superb Fairy-wrens moult their breeding colours and adopt eclipse plumage. During the winter months the eclipse males lose all of their breeding colours except the blue tail. Here's one with a brown female.

Buff-banded Rail mating update from 7 Dec: 1 chick caught on wildlife cam. Shy at first, but a better view near the end of the clip as it follows a parent. A lot of currawongs and crows around. Hope they haven't taken the rest of the chicks.
