Christopher Steps blocked by a fallen tree limb.
Had to route my morning walk around that as well. The stairs off of Christopher Drive also blocked.
Super frustrating! Especially PG&E’s lack of communication about what is causing all of this.
I guess they’re working their way west. We just got one for central Sunset saying 8:15.
Just pushed ours back to 6:15…
Just got an estimate of 5:30 for the Sunset.
Ours just went out in the Sunset. Seems to be cascading.

Beautiful and rare fogbow over the Pacific this morning!
Flaming red sunset over the Sunset District.
Golden Gate Heights shaded pink from the setting sun.
Sometimes the neighborhood definitely deserves its name!
Stonestown and Serramonte both felt like they were heading down this same path not too terribly long ago. Amazing how both of those reinvented themselves (as opposed to San Francisco Centre).
Didn’t read the name of the subreddit before reading the first couple of paragraphs and I kept wondering what was so crankish about what seemed a fairly innocent (if slightly idiosyncratic) and thoughtful proposal and then suddenly: OHHHHHHHH. Yeah, we’re fucked.
“God…I just want to say we love you, God” was also pretty bonkers. (Though I suspect that one was just a lost train of thought.)
Ayasofya and Blue Mosque both can’t miss but less visited and right next to both is the absolutely breathtaking Basilica Cistern. Just a magical and surreal place.
If you haven’t had it before, some places make delicious fried cheese for breakfast. A fun spot for breakfast on the water is Lokma.
Can’t stop watching this. Having seen those kinds of displacement photos on old California history sites, it’s wild getting to see one actually happening!
Suddenly hoping you make “if you don’t know, you don’t know” a thing.
Uhhhh…Interesting hand placement there, Aquaman!
I think I was an F too until @starwarsminute.bsky.social made the first part sound like “nine!” As a kid I think it was Nee-yen for us.
C! I can’t imagine any other way!
For a fun comparison, here’s the 1935 China Clipper flying over the unfinished Golden Gate Bridge (photo from @sfchronicle.com).
Philippine Mars flying boat takes a final flight over the Golden Gate. Really magical moment! (Thanks for the heads up, @burritojustice.bsky.social !)
As an experiment, I have half-heartedly tried not to watch TV or movies with violence this past year and it’s absolutely wild how much entertainment is rooted in violence. Romcoms, sitcoms, children’s shows, doesn’t matter. If it has a plot, there’s a pretty good chance it also has guns.
The light in San Francisco has been extraordinary this week. Just spectacularly blue water.
Thanks, Andrew! Hopefully you still feel that way after you hear it!
Sadly back in the States now but had a wonderful time in London! Didn’t have time to venture outside of the city though.

Statue of Charles Darwin
The lovely Natural History Museum of South Kensington. With all the baffling recent developments back in the US and the country’s increasing disconnect from reality, it was oddly comforting to see Darwin sitting serenely in the great hall.

Seconding the code sharing thank you, @swordsjew.bsky.social!
Looking down from a hill at San Francisco covered in fog.
This morning’s commute: A City in the clouds.
