This negates the purpose of establishing "dark sky communities" and minimizing the ambient light emitted by homes and businesses so that people can enjoy the night sky.
Not to mention exacerbating the problem of space junk.
Technology at any price.

When I first started my bookseller page I faced the same quandary. And I came up with the same answer: "Yes, book sales are nice, but more than anything, I just want to talk about my work and make some connections and friends!"

You should never feel guilty for talking about books. The world is on fire, but we still need to educate and enrich ourselves. Books can make you a better person. Books are the answer. #BookSky

Another neglected gem:
"... despite the many hardships Greave recounts, this is one of the sunniest books I’ve ever read. It may be that ... Greave simply developed an extraordinary capacity for acceptance and finding life and humor in the most dismal situations."

My first "find" as a newly self-designated bookseller was a hardcover copy of "Charlotte's Web", sans DJ, that I bought on instinct; I loved the story as a kid.

Thank you for the information on Ursula Nordstrom, I love adding to my bookish knowledge.
Her goal of elevating books for young people reminds me of Helen Ferris of the Junior Literary Guild (not making a comparison).

Just a cute little watercolor drawing of a house. Sometimes, you just want to see something cheerful and fun, you know? Especially something with a Greek Islands vibe (or maybe that's just me).

PSA

I like this - it captures the essential power of the book -
"The book reads the reader. Each reader, each reviewer, will have an individual response. Books are art; subjective preference rules."

Under the merciful shadow of justice pain is lost in the recesses of oblivion. Hearts bloom with confidence, drinking in the nectar of the mulberry trees, delighting in the sound of the anthems, without understanding their meaning. But will the brightness and the clear skies last forever?

We already have the right to challenge a book's placement in a school library... and that's a good thing.

This bill undermines that by forcing librarians to work according to the political needs of a current regime.

Don't even joke about banning books you just don't like. Bans take away rights.
