i do think that the resistance to USians is less about the way the word sounds/is pronounced and more about "you were raised on a society that valued US cultural hegemony and subconsciously dismiss the rest of two continents when using it" but that's just culture, you and i can't help that.

i call myself an ohioan sometimes, that's where i'm from. i'm also two types of american. i say USian because it distinguishes which category i'm describing.

it isn't political correctness or whatever people mean, it's just practical and accurate. i welcome a better term if you've got a better one.
