Reform UKโs share of BBC and ITV coverage is ridiculous given their number of MPs & considering opposition parties that polled higher (such as Lib Dems) receive such poor coverage.

I don't think it would make much difference at 10 K...
Definitely cards against humanity...
I guess one of the things for me is how my perspective on the CofE has shifted since writing them. I wrote a Church that listened and was willing to change, that was wrapped in bureaucracy at times but ultimately cared about people and was willing to accept fault - and to forgive.
Thank you! I'll leave them up for a while longer.
I love all those characters. I've written all kinds of scenes that aren't in the trilogy - Charley at 20, Mika in her teens, Ruth as a Westcott tutor who all the ordinands are terrified of, Ruth helping Tom through his early episcopal ministry, etc.
I don't know how to function in a world that is so continuously cruel.
Where so many will celebrate this pointless, pointless harm. This will devastate a tiny minority. It will benefit no-one.
So many across our country will comply with this violence. So many others will stand silent.
I am beyond angry at the way trans children are being systematically persecuted.
The full power, violence and force of our state is smashing down onto them, making their life impossible.
I am one of the most published academics on the childhood social transition, with 5 peer reviewed articles that relate to the topic.
There is so much evidence of benefit of social transition.
There is no evidence of harm. Not one jot.
This will literally kill trans kids. No exaggeration.
WAY less tedious than hiding it thankfully!๐คฃ
In that case go for it! I've restored it for now. Wish I had time to edit it properly as I would like, but its current form will just have to do!
(it's back up...)
Book 1 is still in the system but hidden (I hadn't got round to the rest yet as it's a tedious process) so I *could* put it back up for a few more months if someone really wants to read...
Hi! Yes I started taking them down because while I still enjoy the stories, I've gradually developed my writing and started to feel like I don't want them online forever (at least not without major editing). Glad you guys enjoyed them despite their flaws, though!
You say that. Most of us are far too tired to spend our half term yelling at the DfE. We're going to be spending it sleeping, being ill, and trying to find the energy to catch up on housework.
That's a cello!
Just wondering... Anyone I know on here done interrailing recently? Trying to get my head around planning a trip to Italy and figuring out the best options!
My new year's resolution is "scales". On which note, I would like to know why G melodic minor insists on being way more problematic than it has any right to be... ๐ก
A lit advent candle with half of day 17 onwards still unburnt, BBC sounds in the background
Must be time to work through the rest of this ๐ Merry Christmas!
White dinner candle with fairly wobbly purple numbers from 1 to 24 painted in it, a prayer book and bible on the table behind
I realised yesterday that I hadn't bought one... so I got out my paints and spent a while experimenting! It's not beautiful but it'll function... (I actually did a second which was tidier, but gave it to a friend)
Indeed. If they can't afford a ยฃ2m house, maybe they shouldn't have one?
That would be a massive GDPR breach here. Do you have a similar data protection law? If so... *maybe someone needs to be in trouble?*

Ah! Knowing that would have saved me a lot of time.
That took me so long to figure out! Having to work out which octave each note is in definitely didn't help - and the positioning of the commas/double "mi" at the end of the first line really confused me too.
If you are clergy or a congregant in the CofE, you could sign this. www.inclusive-church.org/llf-open-let...
Oh and it even has an arrangement of Jerusalem with all the most important harmonies and stuff but which is actually playable! ๐
My goal when I started teaching myself to play was that I wanted to be able to help out with the odd special occasion - midnight mass and the like - at tiny village churches that otherwise wouldn't have an organist. Books like this put that goal firmly in reach! (I just need a car now...)
"Hymn tunes for the reluctant organist" by Janette Cooper
Also I found this book in a chaotic second hand bookshop yesterday, which was incredible luck because it has in it about 150 tunes in playable 3-part arrangements which mostly sound very effective and were perfect on these little village organs with no pedals!
Recently I met the organist who plays at a group of local village churches, he told me where some keys were kept and invited me to try them anytime. Well my friend and I went to a couple today and they were cute and quirky and a lot of fun! Got a nice walk in too between them.
Statement of Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, archbishop of Chicago, on Standing with Immigrants Oct. 21, 2025 My dear brothers and sisters, today I speak to you as your shepherd, but also as a fellow pilgrim who shares the pain of many of our immigrant communities. Families are being torn apart. Children are left in fear, and communities are shaken by immigration raids and detentions. These actions wound the soul of our city. Let me be clear. The Church stands with migrants. We stand with a mother who crosses borders to feed her children. We stand with the father who labors in silence to build a better future. We stand with the young person who dreams of safety and a better future. Our parishes and schools will not turn away those who seek comfort, and we will not be silent when dignity is denied in the enforcement of the law, it is essential that we respect the dignity of every human being. Now I want to say something directly to those immigrants without documents. Most of you have been here for years. You have worked hard. You have raised families. You have contributed to this nation. You have earned our respect. As the Archbishop of Chicago, I will insist that you be treated with dignity. Americans should not forget that we all come from immigrant families. You are our brothers and sisters. We stand with you. God bless you all.
NEW: Cardinal Blase Cupich, the Archbishop of Chicago, has issued a new statement declaring that Chicago "communities are shaken by immigration raids and detentions. These actions wound the soul of our city. Let me be clear. The Church stands with migrants."
