7/ The reason a lot of us are so much more nervous about Iran is that Trump doesn't just get to turn all this off whenever he wants.

Even if the US never launched another air strike, Israel likely would, and anyway the Iranian ant-hill has been well and truly kicked.

An ICU doctor turned her hand to writing poems. Readers can’t stop crying Dr Melanie Jansen meets parents on the worst day of their lives. She has found an unusual way of coping with the stress.

Newcastle pubs ban AI art from breweries to protect local creatives As two pubs in Newcastle ban AI art, artists discuss the impact it can have on creatives.

"If I was to use ChatGPT for my designs rather than our designer Sean, that's taking money out of the local area into the hands of a multibillionaire ... removing value from the local community and local artists [and] into the hands of some of the richest people in the world."

my belief that the state should only record and never dictate or constrain a person’s identity is why i see #adoptee rights and trans rights as connected at the very root.

Australian folks - where should I try looking for glasses frames that have a choice of interesting colours & shapes, but are value for money?

I can only seem to find eye-wateringly expensive funky frames or dull as dishwater budget ones.

(I need the ones with nose pads, not molded plastic)

ZineLibrary

Much of my youth revolved around the website ZineLibrary. It went down around Occupy in a massive loss for a movement whose ideas and knowledge mostly doesn't circulate online but in person.

Anyway I've put it back online with a *thousand* anarchist zines:
