After 20+ years in therapy I only discovered IFS this year. In a small pilot study, 16 weekly sessions left 92% of participants no longer meeting PTSD criteria. Not a cure-all, but the results are hopeful. Healing is possible. 💭

Barry Goldstein on harmful outcome cases. These are extreme decisions where the alleged abuser is given custody and a safe, protective mother who is the primary attachment figure is limited to supervised or no visitation. Saunders says these decisions are ALWAYS wrong and based on flawed practices.

That is the truth! I have less than a month now until my youngest turns 18... which I know is the exact reason the situation has started escalating for us personally again. But also how I am finally able to start talking about it all openly.

From my understanding she was a victim of abuse and it was her effort to protect him from the father and stepmother... which is sadly all too common 💔
SO true! His abusive behavior and tactics (particularly the DARVO and gaslighting) are SO predictable. I know it's a big reason he and MAGA are so triggering for so many of us 💔
We personally survived coercive control and violence, and now have to experience it all again with the whole world. 💔
That's the plan! I started on Facebook in 2018. Despite protecting my anonymity there, it got into the wrong hands and is no longer private.
