There's already been a huge public enquiry. The report was released in 2022. The Tory government decided to ignore all the recommendations made. Starmer has only been PM for 6 months. In 2013, as DPP, he made huge positive changes to the way claims were investigated.

Add to that the second round of the Romanian elections that took place today. Romanians woke up to Putin's attempt to sneak in a far right fascist puppet. Ukr, Syria, Romania, Georgia... Multiple fronts opening up, weakening Putin. Erdogan is already trying to take advantage of the situation.
