I passed by A23a on our way to South Georgia! Since it was near the polar front (cloudy) this is what it looked like 🤣 we launched a weather balloon for NOAA National Weather Service @accuweather.com which feeds data from synchronized weather balloon launches around the world into weather forecasts!

In a new review published in a special issue of Science, Scripps Oceanography glaciologist @helen-amanda.bsky.social leads a team of polar researchers to emphasize the importance of prioritizing polar science through increased funding, data and global collaboration.
