We have to stop the rot of world leaders and elites destroying our lives and planet - one country at a time, one region at a time and one local area at a time. Hereβs just a glimpse of what your @lambethgreenparty.bsky.social councillors have done to make our area that bit better this week. π
While Labour were signing off Β£100m in cuts to vital services in Lambeth, your local Green councillors have been hard at work supporting residents, workers and estates π²
On May 7th, Lambeth can reject Labour austerity and choose hope by voting GREEN π

Tonight, Lambeth is holding its Budget Council, where Labour are proposing Β£100m in cuts to the services residents need.
We will be putting forward an amendment that protects the most vulnerable from the worst impacts of these cuts.

@martinabrams.bsky.social has outlined the choice Lambeth residents have in May - a choice between austerity with Labour or real change and real hope with the Greens.

No spoilers but we've gone the extra mile for this one....
We are heartbroken to learn of the tragic death of an 11-year-old girl who has died in hospital after being struck by a car at the junction of Garrads Road and Tooting Bec Road at 12:50pm on 12th December. Our deepest condolences go to her family, friends, and everyone in our community who is grieving this unimaginable loss. No family should ever have to endure such pain. As Councillors and local residents we stand in solidarity with them at this devastating time. We will be calling on the Mayor of London, Transport for London, the Metropolitan Police and local authorities to urgently review safety measures at this junction and across the wider area to prevent such tragedies from happening again. We also urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant information to come forward to assist the ongoing police investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting reference 3570/12DEC25. Cllr Martin Abrams, Cllr Nicole Griffiths and Cllr Scott Ainslie Streatham St. Leonard's Councillors

Homes for Lambeth now costs residents Β£500 each as Lambeth Claims it can't afford Β£1m Country Show
This is a massive scandal. Lambeth Council is set to write off Β£59.3m in loans to the failed #HomesForLambeth housing scheme equivalent to a Β£500 cost for every single Lambeth resident.
Where has the money gone? Where is the accountability from Lambeth Labour?

I've spent three days in Calais & it's horrendous.
People living in disgusting conditions. Our Government is spending Β£476m on the militarisation of the border.
We must divert that money to a humanitarian response that treats people with basic dignity.

π₯ We demand a legal aid system accessible for all!
After 30 years of neglect, the government's proposed funding increase does not go far enough in addressing the devastating impact that the legal aid crisis is having on our communities.π¨
