But even with the Diamond Authority, they were capable of being better.
Occasionally, there comes an evil so great that it cannot be changed. ICE are killing people, and enjoying it.

The Diamond Authority is meant to represent the tyrannical people/governments that people actually face in real life. Even though the current administration isn't alien space dictators, Steven would absolutely support protests against the actual corrupt governments on Earth.
