Nice to see there is at least one intelligent, empathetic, sentient being in the room!

They do have a strong smell when they have expanded,its a great way to find them.
You have to collect the 'eggs' before they expand, remove the white outside 'veil' and 'jelly'. The inside when fresh taste like mild radish.
I have also sliced and dried them to add to meals as a mushroom stock. ☺️

Amazing picture.

They can be really loud, calling and flapping if they see a preditor (local cat). We have about 18 at last count (seen at once), they are pretty tame, a couple have eaten from our hand and they follow us around on a morning waiting for their breakfast. 😂

You are correct, it is an amanita muscaria (fly argaric).
They just look like a sweet treat! 😂
