Mark Carney has confirmed he’d drop Canada’s consumer carbon tax, calling it ‘too divisive’.

Regardless of who wins the election, with the tax effectively gone, climate action must now lean more on ‘flexible regulations’- such as low carbon fuel standards, clean energy rebates and more.

The number of times myself and others have had to respond ‘climate change = extreme weather events’ is exhausting.

Trump withdrew the US from the Paris Accord 8 years ago and then Biden signed back on.

Another 4 years of backwards progress is terrifying for climate change. But nothing lasts forever- even the Trump Admin. 4 years and things may turn around once more. That thought alone is worth holding onto.
