Fifteen years ago, the Northeast Corridor Commission convened for the first time! Since then, states, commuter railroads, Amtrak, and the U.S. Department of Transportation have worked side by side to strengthen the #NortheastCorridor for the 200 million passengers who rely on it each year.
For 117 years, this swing bridge has carried generations of passengers across the Connecticut River, a vital link in the #NortheastCorridor. A new bridge, currently under construction, will enable faster, more reliable service for Amtrak, Shore Line East, & freight trains.

Our HYCC-3 team with @amtrak.com recently reached a major milestone: driving the last secant pile that will hold up the sides of hole where the new concrete casing will be built. The next step is excavating, then building the new concrete casing to connect the new tunnel to NY Penn Station.
